  • Concerts and events

    The live concerts always take place from Wednesdays to Sundays from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, except on 24 December 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on 31 December 2023 starting at 8:00 PM. Admission is free of charge. You can find the current calendar here.

  • Attractions

    Winter Market

    The attractions at the Riesenradplatz are open. Outdoor business may close due to bad weather.

    Attractions like Madame Tussauds, Vienna's Ferris Wheel and the Rollercoaster Restaurant are open all year and have set opening times, which you can find on the respective website.

    Wurstelprater

    The area of the Wurstelprater is accessible 365 days a year and round the clock. The attractions are open from 15 March to 31 October from approx. 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. During the summer holidays, they are often also open later. From 1 November to 14 March is our winter season, during which some of the businesses are open during pleasnat weather.

  • Directions: Bus, train, car & parking

    Whether you come by car, train, bus or aeroplane, it is extremely easy to travel to the wintermarket.

    Parking
    Our park offers a sufficient number of parking opportunities for a fee. There are parking spaces for the handicapped near to the Schweizerhaus, as well as near to Vienna’s Ferris Wheel in Tiefweg.

  • New Year's Eve at the Riesenradplatz / New Year

    "New Year's Eve at the Riesenradplatz" is one of the official stations along Vienna's New Year's Eve Path. In line with the motto "Let's party together!", an exciting programme will be on offer until 2:00 AM. Starting at 12:00 noon, you can get things going with hot drinks and snacks as well as fun rides on our attractions on New Year's Eve.
    Stage programme: 8:00 PM - 2:00 AM

    The Prater will dance on 1 Jan. 2025!
    Live broadcast of the New Year's Concert. The traditional New Year's Concert by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchstra will be broadcast live on our LED wall on 1 January 2025 starting at 11:00 AM.

  • Admission

    Admission is free of charge.

  • Payment

    Cards accept.

  • Fairground businesses / stands

    There are 37 stands which offer a wide range of culinary treats.

  • Deposit for mugs/cups

    A deposit of 5.00 EUR per mug/cup is charged. Upon returning the container without any damage, the deposit is refunded.

  • Deposit for tumblers

    A deposit of 2.00 EUR per tumbler is charged. Upon returning the container without any damage, the deposit is refunded.

  • Weather

    We are open by any weather! In the cas of rain, we recommend that our guests take cover under the umbrellas in the areas with high tables.

    In the case of a storm warning with winds over 80 km/hour, the Winter Market has to close for safety reasons, as stipulated by official regulations.

  • Taking beverages / food along

    It is forbidden to bring along alcoholic beverages and food.

  • Lost items

    Please leave any items you may find at the information desk at the Riesenradplatz or deposit them in a lost-and-found box. Following a retention time of two days, the information desk staff deposit every item found in the lost-and-found box. The lost-and-found box is a service provided by the City of Vienna and is emptied twice a week during the main season and once a week during the winter season. If you lose something during your visit, please contact the main lost property office of the City of Vienna directly. Please observe, though, that overlapping times are possible due to the times when the box is emptied.

  • Hotels

    The Prater does not feature a hotel located directly in the park. There are many hotels, though, in the immediate vicinity.

  • Dogs at the wintermarket

    Dogs are very welcome to our park!

    So that everyone gets along, we ask, though, that you comply with the following rules:

    1. Dogs must be on a lead in the entire Prater.
    2. Dogs that are considered dangerous breeds must also wear a muzzle.
    3. Dog owners must remove dog droppings by means of a “Sackerl für’s Gackerl“ (special bags for disposing of dog droppings).
    4. If your dog causes damage or creates a mess, you as the owner are responsible.
  • Lockers

    Our park does not offer lockers. The closest lockers can be found in the vicinity, though, at the Praterstern Railway Station.

  • Missing children

    Missing children? No worries. Our staff will gladly help you look through the entire park. The meeting point is the information desk at the Riesenradplatz or contact our manager of the day directly.

  • First aid

    Minor injuries can be treated at the information desk at the Riesenradplatz. Our staff always endeavours to do their best and will call an ambulance, if necessary. In emergency situations, there is a defibrillator at the information desk at the Riesenradplatz, at the Blumenrad and at the Schweizerhaus.

  • ATMs / cash points

    The area offers a total of seven ATMs / cash points. Please observe that customers of foreign banks may incur transaction fees.

  • Security and safety

    The safety and security of all of our guests and staff are our utmost priority. Our security staff is on site during opening hours and provides support in the cas of questions and problems.

    Due to safety regulations, the number of visitors may be regulated by the authorities.

  • Restrooms

    At the Wurstelprater, there are sufficient restrooms, and the majority is accessible for handicapped guests and offers changing tables for babies.
