After a ride on the Winter Train through the snow-covered Prater, attractions like the Autodrome, Dizzy Mouse, Chain Carousel, and more will sweeten the winter—making it especially enjoyable. At Madame Tussauds Vienna, fans can meet Madonna, Elvis, and other stars up close.

From Wednesday to Sunday, live concerts take place at Riesenradplatz—covering everything from Austropop to soul, pop, rock, folk, R&B, reggae, and gospel—ensuring there’s something for every taste and mood! Enjoy the music with homemade mulled wine, delicious punch creations, and Christmas waffles—winter is celebrated in no finer way.

The First Advent is ushered in by the Perchten. Curious visitors can get a behind-the-scenes look at the Prater on December 24, 2025, and bid on vouchers and gifts in support of the “Ich bin aktiv” association.

The Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour is back this year at the Winter Market at Riesenradplatz in the Prater! On December 9th, the Coca-Cola Santa Claus will visit the Winter Market.

New Year’s Eve 2025 will be celebrated at the Winter Market, and on January 1, 2026, the traditional New Year’s Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic will be broadcast live on the Iconic Screen at Riesenradplatz. To close out the Winter Market, mulled wine and punch will be served at special prices on the last day.

Every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday exceptional bands put you in a fantastic winter mood. The concert program will be online from October 2024.

A winter visit to the Prater

There are many indoor attractions throughout the winter. The visit to the waxwork celebrities at Madame Tussauds Vienna, a "Hatzerl" at the autodrome, an "adrenaline experience" on the indoor rollercoaster or a romantic whirl on the Vienna Ferris Wheel are all worth the experience regardless of the weather.
