Rusty Strings Trio
With three-part vocals, solid guitar work and a rich groove, they manage to capture the magic of a style-defining era and bring it live to the stage. The band's large repertoire includes singer-songwriter-style covers alongside folk, pop and country gems. Detours into the more moderate rock genre and into the popular and well-known Austro-Pop complete the program.
Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, Eric Clapton, Johnny Cash, Crosby Stills & Nash form the solid foundation on which the trio builds with newer songs that have already become classics themselves. Names like Bryan Adams, Dire Straits, Crowded House, Ed Sheeran, Rea Garvey, STS, Rainhard Fendrich and others are included. to be found on the Rusty Strings set list, as well as one or the other true-to-style original composition.
Rusty Strings re-formed as a trio in 2016. The collaboration of an experienced guitar and vocal duo (Stefan Mayer, Christoph Wörgötter) with the experienced bassist and singer Chris Mares has set itself the goal of elevating “easy listening music” with dense choral settings and rhythmic drive beyond “bar level” and thus reaching a broad audience from 17 to 70 to inspire.
